Vegan Pumpkin Donuts

How did I let it get so late into Fall without baking a Fall themed treat to share!? WHO AM I?

Well there's no time like the present and now that we're in full October mode, I decided it was time to go full on pumpkin themed and make us some donuts.

Strawberry Jammin' (Joanie Clothing)

I did something I have never done in the nearly 4 years of blogging (side note: 4 YEARS?!) last week. I took an unexpected and unannounced break from posting.

Aria Western Rose (Collectif)

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with what may be the most beautiful dress I have ever put on my body.

Back to School (Bernie Dexter)

Though I have not gone "back to school" in 8 years, I couldn't resist a Back to School themed post for this week after I snagged this paint palette Mari dress by Bernie Dexter earlier this summer during one her big sales.

The PINEapple of My Eye (Collectif)

Muahahahhaha! Did I not warn you that I had more fruity fun coming your way? DID I NOT?

No one should be surprised to see me rocking this pineapple dress from Collectif. If you are, frankly I don't know that you know me all too well...

Collar me Teal-riffic (Collectif)

Look at that satisfying title - two puns? TWO? You can't get any better than that...

Oh Collectif Clothing. You sneaky little minx. Here I was, minding my own business and not buying TOO many new clothes in the last 6 months or so and then they go and have another one of their end of the season 50% blow out sales.

Gingham & Sunshine (Andrea Makes Things)

I am always always willing to spend money with small businesses. Especially in the fashion world - the retro/vintage fashion world, more specifically - where gals with mad sewing skills are creating beautiful garments that I could never dream of creating.

Viva East 2018!

Well, well, well! Look at these lovely ladies!

This past weekend was the 2nd annual Viva East Rockabilly Weekender and seeing as it took place just 20 minutes North of my house, you betcha I was there!

Wisteria Hysteria (Joanie Clothing)

Do I now have 2 dresses with the name Wisteria? Yes, it appears I do.

Luckily, the original Wisteria dress I got from Tatyana last Spring is the loveliest lavendar colored dress and nothing like this adorable floral and ready for summer dress from Joanie Clothing. They just share the same name!

In Bloom (Collectif x ModCloth)

ModCloth has stepped up their game lately.

When I heard Collectif and ModCloth were collaborating this Spring, I got curious. As you may recall, Collectif has quickly risen up the ranks and is by far one of my top 3 brands to buy from lately.

Tickets, Please! (Bernie Dexter)

Say, is that me wearing a cardigan in 85 degree weather? YEP!

"Good God, Why?" you're probably asking. Well, it's simple really.

Lemon Meringue Pie (Hearts & Found)

A couple months ago, I was lucky enough to win a $100 Etsy gift card from my fellow blogger, Kara from the Dressed Aesthetic, in honor of her 3 year blog-a-versary and, at first, I was sure it'd all go toward wedding related things like bouquets or a birdcage veil.

But then I was browsing Hearts and Found (as one does when bored and wanting to stare at pretty things to pass the time) and I started to feel as though my shiny new gift card would be better spent on a shiny new dress!

What's New, Emma Lou? (Lindy Bop)

Everyone who knows me knows my love for a good full circle skirt/dress with a fluffy petticoat beneath it. In fact, I've worn petticoats for nearly everyday for as long as I can remember since I began wearing them about 3 years ago or so.

So when I shop online, I tend to scroll past dresses or skirts that aren't full enough to accommodate a petticoat. However, when I saw this Emma Lou dress on the Lindy Bop website when I was springing for the duckling skirt a few weeks back, I sort of broke all my rules.

Make Way For Ducklings & Change (Lindy Bop)

It's been a BUSY couple of months behind the scenes here at In a Nutshell. I've been keeping a once a week posting cadence here just to help me juggle it all. Between our annual busy season (in the trade show world, March-May typically are extremely busy!), some looming division reorganizations taking place smack dab in the middle, and our ongoing wedding plans, I just knew my bandwidth would be pretty stretched thin.

As if that wasn't enough -  I have BIG news to share today along with this ADORABLE new skirt from Lindy Bop. LB recently released a bird collection and I immediately fell for their Francine dress and Adalane skirt featuring the cutest family of ducks parading around the hem.

What's Sara Reading? What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum

Well, since I've been doing what I do best and traveling every couple of weeks, you must have expected a "What's Sara Reading?" post at some point, right? Because, as usual, I beefed up my Kindle for the flights and devoured some really good books as I made my way to and from Vegas recently.

My favorite? What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum. I tend to buy 2 books before a trip - 1 intriguing general fiction book that I've had on my reading list and 1 YA book. I still find YA more creative, enjoyable, heart-wrenching, and all around the style of writing that can suck me in so when I am traveling, I usually snuggle right on into a good YA book.

Cacti On My Mind (Hell Bunny)

One thing is for sure - Cacti is a THING this Spring. Everywhere I look on social media, I see more and more cactus prints. From Collectif to Emily and Fin, repro brands have caught desert fever for sure!

Fern Gully (Lady V London)

I feel like a broken record in the sense that every time I post lately, I make some reference to the weather in New England and how Spring is on its way but like, can you blame me? I think New Englanders keep repeating "Spring is on its way!" with the hope that it actually is and that any day now, the sun will stick around longer than one day.

In reality, though, it has started to feel as though it's actually not...
