Happy Galentine's Day (Collectif)

Happy Galentine's Day, my little peanuts! I am honoring Galentine's instead of Valentine's today because I want to have some girl talk. There is something I've been dying to share for ages now but had no idea where to share it. I know there are tons of others who would benefit from it though and feel the need to share my experience and decided Galentine's Day was the right time to do it. I wanna talk periods.

UR Sweet: Red Velvet Blossom Cookies

I've had this blog for 6 years now (WTF HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?) and I think I've shared Valentine's Day treats nearly every single year! I'm impressed with myself! Knowing that I feel like I can't let anyone down (the whopping 20 of you that even read my recipe posts, ha!).

This year, I went for simplicity. I knew I liked the idea of a festive cookie or something pretty simple and then I saw this twist on the classic peanut butter blossom cookie concept and my mind was blown. OF COURSE! Why NOT make the blossom cookie with other flavors?

Where the Buffalo Roam... (Collectif)

You know, sometimes I wonder if my blog titles confuse the heck out of people. They don't always make sense. I usually sit here, think of either the name of the dress I'm wearing (or the brand name of the dress I'm wearing) or what is on the print or fabric and whatever comes to mind first becomes the title. In this case, well, this dress is made with a white buffalo plaid fabric, so I started singing "Home on the Range."

Barking Up the Wrong Tree (Palava)

Do you have a brand/designer that you always admire - but from afar only? Palava is mine. I loved them for ages - through their multiple name changes (I got a skirt from them when they were called Poppy!) and all their new designs.

A Very Vintage Christmas (Button Button)

Some of you may recognize Button Button and recall that I commissioned her to make my amazing ice cream sundae themed playsuit for Viva East back in July. Well, when she recently shared her haul of round vintage holiday tablecloths and offered them up for custom skirts, I leaped at the chance.

I really loved this one with its scattering of poinsettias and its red border print. I knew it'd make a lovely skirt and a great addition to my holiday attire. While I have been trying to spend less money on clothes lately, I love supporting small businesses - especially ones run by fantastic women!

Holiday Glitz & Glamour with Zapaka

Cody and I have had New Orleans on our list of adventures for as long as I could remember. We initially planned it for Christmastime this year and then put the vacation on hold when we found out we were pregnant in August. When we lost the baby in October, I suggested we re-plan the trip to give us something to look forward to.

So we did it! We booked our trip for early December and I started building out our long weekend itinerary. I love making itineraries. I loved having something FUN to plan and think about to take my mind off my suddenly dark reality. As I did so, there was only one thing I wished I had to bring with me - something new and festive to photograph for the blog!'

3 Ingredient White Chocolate Fudge

Tis the season for festive outfits, the best music in the world, fuzzy socks, and adorable decorations. But there's something even BETTER than all those things - holiday treats! I figured there was so better way to kick off the best month of the year than with an easy but delicious recipe.
