Ice, Ice, Baby: Ice Castles in Lincoln, NH

This adventure was a year overdue. Maybe longer! I've been dying to visit the Ice Castles in New Hampshire for years and last year, as Cody and I were getting to know our now good friends, Jen (from Dressing with Class) and her hubby, Dave, we totally aimed to go on a mini road trip up to Lincoln, NH to do so.

Did we make it there? Somehow, no. We were all so busy that by the time we got around to making a plan, it was too last minute and tickets were sold out on the days we were available. Because, yes, this is the kind of attraction that sells out quick!

Teacher's Pet (Retrolicious Madison Skirt)

Well it appears January has a plaid theme going so I'm going to just go along with it and say it was intended!

Interesting as well since I typically don't go for plaids. I'm just never drawn to them often! I do have a couple plaid shirts that I wear on weekends with jeans to stay warm but when it comes to my wardrobe, I often go for patterns and novelty prints.

What's Sara Reading? The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I dove into The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid before my last trip of 2017 took place in late November (I know and it took me THIS long to post about it). I was heading back to Las Vegas (luckily for only 2 days) and was excited to devour this book on the plane right in - it's my favorite part of traveling: all the reading I get to do! I finished Evelyn Hugo on the flight to Vegas because I basically just ate it up.

Coffee Break (Tatyana Miranda Dress)

Do you ever think up an entire narrative in your head to go with your outfit as you get ready in the morning?

I definitely do from time to time when an outfit inspires one and this one certainly did.

So here's the story...

Simply the Best: 2017 In a Nutshell

Every January, I have a lot of fun looking back on the previous year and collecting my favorite posts for a Best Of spread. This year, I debated doing it the way I usually do with talking about my personal favorites or if I collect the top posts of the year based on views/engagement. In the end, I decided to try something new and instead of sharing MY favorites, I am sharing all of YOUR favorites!

It was very interesting to see the overlap. Looking at my favorites list and the list of my top posts of the year, only a small handful lined up. But hey, the people like what the people like. Who am I to judge my peanuts' taste in posts?

I am not! So without further ado, here is a roundup of In a Nutshell's top posts of 2017!
