Ruins (Tropical Bamboo Sarong Dress by Collectif)

You guys, blue Jukes are haunting me.

Twice in the past two weeks, I have seen bright blue Jukes out in about (whereas up until now, I really never saw another bright blue Juke besides mine and maybe 1 in the 4 years I owned one - they discontinued the color after 2012) and it's as though my old car, Betty, knows I got a new one and she's come back from her car grave to haunt me about it. How dare I get a new yellow Juke!?

Viva East 2017

If you're in the retro community and you haven't heard about Viva Las Vegas, you must live under a rock. It's by far the largest and most popular rockabilly and vintage weekender and pinups come from all over to attend.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Cookies

Thanks to my "do nothing" vacation last week, I feel like I am back on track with my blog and may be back to my two-posts-a-week schedule once again! Man, it didn't take much to throw me off but it sure took a lot to get back on.

Needless to say, I am happy to have had two posts this week for the first time since early June (maybe even before that??) and am super pumped to have a recipe to share to boot!

Paved with Gold (Hip Zipper)

I've had this beautiful vintage dress since May and it has been sitting in my closet, waiting for its moment to shine, since.

Funny how that works. I thought I had a solid plan for this dress's photo shoot but it kept getting delayed in my scheduling and I just never got around to shooting it. Then I found myself having to replace my car, all my plans changed, and this dress got pushed further down the list!

Paint it Red (Happy Birthday to Me!)

Who has the best long-distance romance/friendship in the world? I DO, I DO!

You all know about my obsession with my friend, Anna, from across the pond in Germany by now and you may even recall seeing my beautiful Christmas gift from her back in December on this very blog! Well, my peanuts, she has done it again!

Farm Fantasia (Tatyana Wisteria Dress)

Show of hands - who here remembers my epic saga of being in Las Vegas 3 times in an 8 week span? I DO! I DO! Well, I am still happy it's over (I may even still be recovering...) and now that it's summer, my busy season has started to calm down.

Give Me Some of That Luau Luck

Hi, my little peanuts! I am still here and kicking! Blogging has definitely taken a back burner these past few weeks due to the accident and work but I am hoping to get back on track in the coming weeks.

BBRBF Book Club: Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk

Happy mid-June, my peanuts! I believe the first of day of Summer was yesterday and someday New England will catch up to that fact (we've had a few lovely days here and there that get to be 75 degrees F but then it very quickly returns to rain and chilly temps maxing out at 55 degrees F) but for now, we'll just keep pretending it's been one long ass month of April to make us feel better. You know the saying, April showers bring...

Well, it better bring something!

These (Kinky) Boots are Made For Walking: NYC

When Panic! at the Disco announced that front man (and my future husband), Brendon Urie, was going to be Charlie in Kinky Boots on Broadway this Summer, my heart skipped a beat. Not only is he a perfect match (if you have ever listened to a P!ATD song, seen a video, or seen Brendon live, you'd know how theatrical this man can be!) for Broadway, but NYC is only a train ride away from me!

Still, I didn't quite think I'd get to see it. With my crazy travel schedule, I just didn't see it fitting in without going crazy. When Red offered to go with me and have a NYC adventure though, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Resale Therapy @ Nashville Boogie

This dress was fate.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you probably think I tell myself that every time I add a new dress to my online shopping cart, but this time I really mean it!

Bernie Dexter About (Bean) Town

Know what's funny? Cody and I live only 40 minutes outside of Boston but we hardly ever spend time there. We know the city decently but we really only go into the city for concerts or specific activities. We don't typically decide to head in for the day and see where it takes us.

Sweet Retreat: The Goo Goo Shop in Nashville, TN

While in Nashville, we had a few places we knew we wanted to visit on our list. One of the first ones on my list was the Goo Goo Shop. The moment I learned they had a store front in Nashville, I knew we would visit, have a snack, and snap some photos for the blog.

Boogie Nights: Nashville Boogie Vintage Weekender & Car Show!

As some of you are aware from my Facebook or Snapchat, I spent this past weekend in Nashville for the Nashville Boogie! Cody and I took flight early on Thursday morning (7am flight, hello!) and landed in Nashville before 9am.

I did this so that we could have the entire day Thursday to explore together before the Nashville boogie started. We went from the airport straight downtown in our little rental car that could to wander around and see a few museums.

BBRBF Book Club: Caraval by Stephanie Gordon

Well, my peanuts, it's mid-May and I just wrapped up my marathon of 3 Las Vegas trade shows in a row. Needless to say, I am POOPED! I ended the marathon with an hour long massage at the spa in the Palazzo before flying back home and let me tell you - it was the BEST IDEA EVER. Especially because right after the massage, I sought out and enjoyed a bowl of chocolate and raspberry truffle gelato. Massages with an ice cream finale need to become a thing - STAT!

Vegas aside, let's talk this month's BBRBF Book Club read: Caraval by Stephanie Gordon. Be sure to keep an eye on the other club members' blogs for their thoughts and inspired outfits: Helene from Circle Skirts and Petticoats, Kat from The Miss Information Blog, Kristina from Eyre Effect, Noelle from The Classy Junk,  Laci Fay, and Justyna from Hazel & Honey!

Peanut Butter Fudge Oreo Icebox Cake

You know what dessert I am starting to really appreciate? The kind that pretty much makes itself.

With how busy the past few months have been for me, recipes like icebox cakes really make me happy.

Roadside Circus (Inger-Rose Dress from Miss Candyfloss)

If you're anything like me, you've been drooling all over your keyboard ever since Miss Candyfloss released their look book for the new Housewife collection a couple months back. With every glimpse at the new dresses to come, my eyes grew wider and wider in awe. Can you find a more beautiful collection out there right now? I'd argue that you can't!

Green Thumb (Mainline Coco Dungarees by Collectif)

I have to start off by admitting that I did NOT think these Coco dungaree overalls from Collectif would see the light of day never mind a feature on this blog. I ordered them while thinking "why are you spending money on these when you've been doing so well trying NOT to spend money? You know they probably won't fit right and will just end up looking like Mom jeans or not fitting your strangely proportioned body..."

Because typically, if I even CONSIDER stepping out of my comfort zone and what is familiar, it becomes disastrous. But when I saw the lovely Nora Finds rocking them to pieces on her blog a few weeks back, I kinda had to have them!

Shake It (featuring Kristina from The Eyre Effect)

Before you get all kinds of excited - no, I am NOT once again in Seattle. I mean, funny enough, I am once again in Las Vegas as this post goes live, but sadly, it doesn't end with taking photos with Kristina of The Eyre Effect again.

BBRBF Book Club: Secret History of Wonder Woman

Well, I am taking off tomorrow yet again for Las Vegas (Vegas trip 2 out of 3, for those keeping track) to manage 200+ meetings and 5+ customer events at NAB, my team's largest trade show that we do every year.

But you didn't come here to listen to be blabber on about that. Today is this month's BBRBF Book Club review day! This month, we imagined what is like to be a superhero with Jill Lepore's The Secret History of Wonder Woman.

Retroversible Redux (Julie Mollo)

I have been waiting oh so patiently for the Spring weather to come so I could wear this outfit. I snagged the vintage cotton button down top from a vintage BST group on Facebook back when it was still too cold for bare arms and knew it would be a dream paired with my Julie Mollo retroversible skirt.

Guitar Solo (Small Victories Handmade)

There were a lot of things that attracted me to Cody when we met but one of the coolest things about him was that he played guitar. Who can resist a rockstar, am I right? All jokes aside, as a singer, it was cool to connect with someone else who appreciated music the way I did!

Plus, he can really play. Also plus, he looks really good doing it, if I do say so myself (some visual proof at the end of this post)!!

Float On (Emily and Fin Esther Dress in Floating Daisies)

As many of you know, whenever I am traveling for work (or for pleasure, on the rare occasion), I like to treat myself at local vintage shops or boutiques. One of my favorite places to do this is Seattle, WA.

Lucky for me, Seattle will always be somewhere I travel to since my company, Dell EMC, has an office there right on 1st Avenue South. I specify where it is located because it's in a pretty central spot downtown, making shopping in Seattle quite convenient.

Chocolate Strawberry Pastry Braid

Lately, I've really dropped the ball on bringing you yummy recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth. I used to split my posts between fashion and food, bringing you one recipe for almost every outfit. In the past 8 months or so, it's been more like 1 recipe per month, if any at all.

Poor Unfortunate Souls (Small Victories Handmade)

Hello my fellow poor unfortunate souls! I am so excited to be sharing this outfit, the beautiful brooch in particular!

This wickedly amazing Ursula brooch hit Small Victories Handmade's shop this weekend and it frankly couldn't be more of a bad ass design! I even decided to brave our April Fool's Day snowstorm to get some icy and snowy photos to match Ursula's cruel cold heart.
