Talkin' About Tallulah (Smitten Kitten Unique Boutique)

Right in time for the hottest month of summer to begin (I see you coming, July!), I partnered up with one of my favorite small businesses, Smitten Kitten Unique Boutique, to celebrate the release of their newest dresses. This Tallulah dress (in the Fancy Doodles print) has all the summer vibes and was an immediate favorite due to its colorful fabric.

Smitten Kitten Unique Boutique caters to the curvy gals and I so appreciate shop owner and designer, Harley LaFebre's attention to detail with the items she curates for her shop. The dresses she offers from vintage reproduction brands, as well as those she releases for her label, are always lovely and of great quality. I love me a good cotton dress: they're pretty, comfortable, and so easy to care for.

I've been trying to appreciate the not-so-humid days whenever we get graced with them (few and far between!). It sort of helps make the insanely hot and humid days more tolerable. It's on those days that I value all my light summer dresses in my collection and this precious Tallulah dress is thankfully now among them!

I was immediately drawn to the blue and yellow combination of Talulah's fabric - it's not one you see a lot but, boy, does it work! I also love that there is basically an entire rainbow present. SO many accessorizing possibilities with this one! It will be fun mixing it up all summer long.

I wore it this weekend (when this little heatwave we're having began) and it was so easy to throw it on with a belt and the right shoes before walking out the door. I really dig a dress that's ready to go with minimal effort.

The large fit me just about perfectly. The Tallulah is 97% cotton and 3% spandex so it was super comfortable all day and even though I avoid thin spaghetti straps like the plague - guess what??

I was ECSTATIC to find that it has ADJUSTABLE STRAPS! No lie, I literally gasped and did a happy dance in my bedroom. Rubix may have given me a judgemental glance. That or she was also very much invested in the discovery. Hard to tell with her...

I wish more designers thought to include adjustable straps on their summer dresses because HOLY HECK does it help for short-torso'd gals like myself. I have a couple Bernie Dexter Chelsea dresses with similar straps that are impossibly too big and eventually I will be getting them tailored to fit better. But thankfully not the case with Tallulah! Such a relief.

I've worn and shared a couple of Harley's dresses before so be sure to catch up on Hawaiian Purr and Oh So Foxy if you want more Smitten Kitten! And keep an eye on the blog next week for the second dress Harley sent me to show off for you!
