Although I had originally hoped it would arrive for the second-best holiday of the year, National Donut Day (obviously, Christmas comes first), there have been so many shipping delays lately that it did not even come CLOSE. It was all A-OK, however! Instead, this adorable handmade dress from Pastello Dress on Etsy came just in time for my birthday weekend!
I have been a fan of Vici for a while now whether it be her blog or her Etsy shop Instagram and was so excited to finally order a dress of my own! Vici makes dresses in the vintage style and while each dress is one of a kind, she makes them in a range of sizes to include vintage-lovin' gals of all shapes and sizes. It seemed like fate that this donut and sprinkle covered dress was a bigger size and matched my measurements!
I typically don't care to even acknowledge my birthday and considering the challenges that these last 10 or 11 months have brought me, I certainly didn't have a birthday celebration on the top of my mind. Things just haven't been going my way these days and though things are difficult to endure right now, I decided I needed to get away for a bit so last weekend, my sister and I took a trip to Kittery, ME for two nights.
We stayed at a cute cabin-style motel (Kittery Inn & Suites) and enjoyed their outdoor pool, nearby beaches, and ate all kinds of Maine/summer treats in addition to some delicious donuts at Lovebird Donuts. Because what would my birthday be without donuts?!
OBVIOUSLY, this dress was destined for the trip to Lovebird and I just had to take photos with their delicious confections! How yummy do these donuts look? Trust me, they were even more delicious than they look!
