In Bloom (Collectif x ModCloth)

ModCloth has stepped up their game lately.

When I heard Collectif and ModCloth were collaborating this Spring, I got curious. As you may recall, Collectif has quickly risen up the ranks and is by far one of my top 3 brands to buy from lately.

I used to LIVE and BREATHE ModCloth so my heart skipped a little as they started to release some Collectif items on the MC site. Some were items straight from the Collectif site but there were some really lovely ModCloth exclusive pieces that made me swoon more and more.

Now, this dress isn't solely available on ModCloth (you can find it on Collectif's site as well as part of their Caterina dresses) but it was designed with ModCloth for the collaboration.

I debated springing for it since I already have 1 Caterina dress from Collectif  (named Merida) but then realized, yeah I may have 1 but that just means I should have 2 because A. Collectif fits me so well and B. the 1 dress I do have is just divine and is one of my favorite dresses in my closet.

SO OBVIOUSLY I BOUGHT THIS ONE!

I am digging florals more and more these days and I'm not leaping for as many novelty prints as I used to. I used to cringe at most florals and didn't really care much for a pretty dress covered in dainty flowers.

I don't want to say my taste is maturing because appreciating a good novelty print isn't immature by any means (in fact, I also ordered a dress covered in watermelons from ModCloth that you'll see on the blog real soon, so...) but I do feel like my style is slowly evolving.

That isn't surprising or strange. My style has been evolving and changing ever since I was in 7th grade, obsessed with Lizzie McGuire and Limited Too, and probably always will be. I don't believe we remain ONE way all our lives. I think as we live life and experience different stages of life, our styles evolve with us.

So if that means more florals for me? Yes, please! Because, really, how could I resist this beautiful number? The jade/teal stretch cotton covered in delicate pink blooms and tiny polka dots. Well, it won me over!

We had our menu tasting the other week so I took along my camera and snapped these photos outside of the venue. I am SO excited to get married here - the building alone has such character (more than you can really tell from these photos taken in just two small areas of the ginormous old mill building!). I cannot wait to see what my photographer extraordinaire, Zac, captures in November around this space.

But back to this dress. Like my first Caterina, it's a smidge too long (when dresses fall a few inches past my petticoat, a piece of me dies inside even though I know no one else notices those kinds of things out in the real world) but it's nothing I can't get over. I can always bribe my sewing friends to give them a good hem, if I want!

I pay in baked treats. So consider that if you've got sewing skills and time to spare...
