Cheers to a Sweet New Year!

Happy 2018, my little peanuts!!

I hope you got some time off to relax, chill in your jammies, catch up on your Netflix queue, and catch up with loved ones. I sure did and I still sort of am since this week is bound to be quiet in the office. It always is this time of year (Dell shuts down the week of Christmas and people often take more vacation time before or after to extend it as long as they can).

Before I launch into what I am most excited about this year (because I do NOT believe in resolutions), let's just step back and admire this dress I am wearing because not only is it one of the cutest things I ever put on my body but it's also yet ANOTHER dress made for me by my boo, Anna!

By now, you're all sick of hearing me rave about this girl so I won't but CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE KEEPS MAKING ME PRETTY THINGS?? What did I do to deserve a friend like her? WHAT DID I DO?

Well whatever I did, I am glad I did it. I love having pretties in my closet made by someone I know. Whenever I get a compliment on my outfit and I am wearing something she made, I just explode and start gushing to them about where it came from, etc. They probably think I am insane.

Anna actually sent me pictures of this fabric in both pink and brown without much explanation besides "which one do you like more?". I am sure it was when I was in the middle of something (as it was late Fall and I was juggling a million things this Fall) and picked one without much thought.

Well fast forward to her Christmas package arriving. By then I knew she was making the fabric I chose into a dress but I couldn't for the life of me remember which one I had chosen. I think it worked out in my favor - I got a little surprise when Christmas morning came around and I got to tear open my dress.

I just LOVE it! Look at all the little treats!!!! How precious is this fabric in this style? I mean, I swear I am THISCLOSE to hiring someone to kidnap Anna, bring her to me, and lock her in my basement so I can keep her as my dress slave. I wouldn't be cruel - I'd feed her, give her a cozy bed, and every once in awhile toss down some fabric and force her to make me things...

But back to the New Year! It's officially 2018! It's going to be the busiest one yet with work (I am leading the efforts at NAB in April for the first time - our biggest booth at 40ft x 40ft - and 3 of our biggest competitors picked booths circling ours - NO PRESSURE OR ANYTHING!) but also the best one yet as Cody and I plan for our wedding in November. EEK!!!!! I am bursting at the seams just thinking about it.

A lot of the big stuff was done before the holidays because we knew what we wanted (band, venue, photographer) and now that the holidays are over, it's time for the FUN!! I am so so so SO SO SO excited to start dress shopping later this month. We are also taking our engagement photos in a couple weeks, too, which I have been fantasizing about for years and years. Needless to say, it's going to be a crazy month. I feel like it's going to start feeling REAL when I try on dresses. OH MAN! I can't even imagine!!

January is going to be a good one - I can feel it. Not only am I dress shopping and engagement photo taking, but Anna's due date is in a few weeks. I can't wait to see Baby Z (Zorn is their last name) come into this world and see her and Florian become parents. She knows she is required to send me 1 baby photo every day because she's going to be the cutest damn baby ever. I hope I get to snuggle her face in person sometime - fingers crossed it's for my wedding!!

So, peanuts, tell me - what are you looking forward to most this year?

Ah yes, because when you have a snowman made of chocolate at your disposal, you place it on your head...naturally...
