Monochromatic Magic: Purple Passion

Is there a particular color you lean toward when you buy clothes? It may be your favorite color, a color you've been told you look good in, or it may just be a total fluke and coincidence.

For me, there are two colors I tend to leap toward when given the option: red and purple. I have a lot of red and purple in my closet. In fact, if I've got a red and purple version of just about everything in my closet (tops, skirts, dresses, petticoats [of which I actually have 2 of each - 1 long and 1 short for each hue], bangles, belts, tights, shoes, hair scarves or flowers, lipstick...need I go on?).

When noticing this (I have to confess this didn't come as a surprise to discover), I got the idea to wear a monochromatic outfit.  I am toying with the idea of doing a series of these so keep an eye out. You may see me dressed in one color from head to toe again in the near future.

If you haven't caught on yet, for this post I focused on purple. I love purple. Red is my ultimate favorite color but I must say, purple is a very close second. I wear a lot of purple. I don't even really know why. I just know that when I am deciding between colorways, if there is a purple option, that is what I graduate toward.

Unless there's a red option. In that case, I will probably volley back and forth on them both, torturing myself to no end on how to make the right decision. I may even throw some fits in the decision process.

I beg you, how does one KNOW which color to pick? How does one GUARANTEE they will love the color they ultimately go with?? SOMEONE TEACH ME THE WAYS!

Fun fact - this retroversible skirt from Julie Mollo actually DID come in a red version. You best believe I agonized for DAYS over which one to get before opting for the purple. I mean, it is SUCH a lovely purple. How could I resist?

The only thing missing from this purple outfit are purple glasses. Dang it! My first glasses were actually purple though - does that count??

So, my peanuts, tell me - what color dominates your closet? Don't tell me I am the only one. No way, Jose. I can't be the only one who could dress in one color from head to toe - am I??
