Tuitti Fruity: Lady V London for Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Yesterday was Dr. Seuss's birthday! It was also my father's birthday...and the day before that was Anna's birthday...and today is Cody's Mom's birthday! Talk about a lot of important birthdays! Some of my favorite people are in that bunch. Well, March babies, Happy Birthday! I hope you had/have a great day.

But back to Dr. Seuss! Like a lot of kids, Dr. Seuss was very prevalent in my childhood. I have very vivid memories of reading "Are You My Mother?" with my sisters and mom, all of us sitting in a row across one of our tiny twin beds - pillows behind our heads, feet stretched out in front of us.

I also remember trying to color-coordinate our collection in the family bookshelf. The thin hardcover books lined up perfectly but the challenge lied in trying to get them to look like a perfectly coordinated rainbow.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I know. I would, right?

Above all else, though, Dr. Seuss is known for his crazy whimsical worlds that are topsy-turvy, upside down, and downright quirky. I knew it'd be the perfect time to share my latest find from Lady V London. This Rosalyn Dress in their Forbidden Fruits print is just so fun, bright, and colorful - a perfect homage to Seuss himself!

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.

It also immediately makes me think of Miss Bristol. She'd accessorize this puppy so well with her fruity necklaces and brooches, don't you think?

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.

Along with today's photos, I wanted to also share some of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes. Some from his stories, some from his quite clever and insightful mind. For a silly writer, he sure had some great things to say!

I have come to really love Lady V London. I have about 3 dresses now and each one is such good quality. The fabric is great on all but this dress is lined and even has a little crinoline at the bottom to give it some oomph on its own. Of course, it wasn't enough oomph for me so I just pulled on one of my older Hell Bunny petticoats to give it just a little more volume. Although, if I had realized it was visible, I probably would have opted for the red one! Oops!

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

I will be honest with the fit on this one - it isn't so great. Without a chunky belt, the waist hits me at a weird spot and is a bit unflattering. Also, the shoulders have a bit of room. I may bring it to the taylor to see if it can be taken in. I think once I do that, the waist will fall better and the bust will line up better as well. It's all due to being short. My measurements fit the size UK12 to a T with my 36" bust and 29" waist (the dress sizes at 36" bust and 30" waist) but sometimes I run into roomie shoulders. If only I were a couple inches taller! Oh well. Still, I couldn't wait to share it here in all its fruity glory!

Were you a big Dr. Seuss fan when you were little? What's your favorite book?

Outtake alert! Folks, I leave you with the following two shots, in which Cody came wandering outside to show me a book he re-discovered in his bookshelf and wouldn't let me take my blog photos in peace!

Unfortunately, no, the book he found was not "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish."
