Lady Sings the Winter Blues: Lady V London

It was probably foolish of me to take outfit photos on one of the coldest days of winter so far. It was probably equally foolish - if not more so - to decide against tights and a sweater when doing so. I just wasn't feeling layers, you know? I figured I'd just tough it out, snap snap snap, and run back inside.

Sigh.

Will I ever learn?

I didn't plan it this way. I meant to have this dress photographed over a week ago but got hit with a nasty head cold that forced me to delay everything planned for last weekend to this past weekend. Needless to say, some things just never got done. Photographing this dress was one of them.

I didn't worry too much. Since I was working from home on Monday, I figured I'd just throw on the dress and snap some photos at my lunch break.

ERROR ERROR - DOES NOT COMPUTE - ERROR!

As luck would have it, the flurries we were supposed to get turned into 4 inches of snow and Monday turned out to be a very frigid and windy day. Now, the snow was fluffy and light and yes, it was a sunny day, but I should have never let that fool me!

OH THE WIND!

I tried not to scream as I felt snow being blown right up on my back.

Ugh! The things we do for our blogs!

As I stood out there, I wondered, "Really, Sara? Why didn't you throw on a black cardigan and buckled this little belt over that? Huh? WHY?"

Because I'm a moron, that's why.

All that aside, though, how great is this dress from Lady V London? I scored two dresses of their site during their post-Christmas sale for nearly half off. I have never ordered from there before but will definitely be ordering again! I love their fit and quality. The two I got fit me perfectly and I am super excited to have more blue options in my wardrobe.

Even though I'm freezing to death in the pictures, I am excited to have this dress for the winter. The dark floral print just screams winter to me and the material is a bit on the heavier side. When I do wear this appropriately and have a cardigan over it, I know it will make one cozy yet stylish winter outfit.

Now, don't get me wrong with all this winter bashing going on. I do not miss summer at all. Nope. Not even after nearly freezing to death in my snowy driveway will get me to say I miss summer. I am still a fan of winter.

But perhaps next time I need to photograph a new dress, I can opt for a day that ISN'T the coldest/windiest/snowiest day we've had all winter?
