You've Got Mail!

Break out the swimsuits - it's 40 degrees today! I stepped outside to take this photos and first was annoyed by the 2 inches of slushy snow that we had on the ground from the night before. But then I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't frigidly cold outside! The breeze was, dare I say, a little warm! 40 degrees may not sound high (and it's so not) but after dealing with temperatures so low that with a wind chill, they were hitting the negatives for the past few weeks, this feels like a heatwave.

Snow has nothing to do with this Emily and Fin dress, though. I have worn it only once before after snagging it on sale from ModCloth (where else??) so I new it was time to break it out again. I love it. It's so comfy, for one thing, but I just adore the fabric covered in falling letters.

As I pulled it on this morning, I realized it would be the perfect dress to bring with me to Dubai next week. With the letters, it just screams travel and pen pals, don't you think? I just imagine these letters are love letters being sent all around the world between long distance lovers. Oh, the romance!

Oh yes, didn't I tell you? I am off to Dubai this Saturday. It's a work trip but it will still be quite the adventure. I am a such a travel newbie! I am excited to experience the culture but also to experience the 80 degree weather. See ya later, snowy driveway! Hello sun and warmth! I am a little too excited to wear a skirt and dress without tights and sweaters. So long, layers!

Well, at least for a week.

What I like about this dress is that it is lined. Because of this, I don't really need a petticoat. It's not as voluminous as it would be with a petticoat, but it's still got a bit of oomph to it - just the way I like my dresses!  Makes it easy to pull on and head on out for the day. I like ease!

Ease is good - especially when I've got slush to clean off my car, like I did this morning. Won't miss that while in Dubai, let me tell you. Oh well. Hopefully this mini heatwave we're experiencing today will melt it all before I head home after work.

Ok so probably not all of it will melt - but a girl can dream, can't she??
